Applying for a Collaborative U01 award is a two-step process:
Step 1 - Requests for Letters of Support (LOS)
Request the required Letters of Collaboration (LOSs) through OCRECO. Follow the pre-application instructions, found here, to submit your request.
Your application will need one or two LOSs, depending on the resources required for your project:
• NIH Institute/Center LOS - required. This letter comes from the NIH IC expected to accept the application and confirms that the proposed work aligns with the IC's research mission.
• NIH Clinical Center LOS - if applicable. This letter confirms that the NIH Clinical Center has the space and resources needed to support the project.
The required LOSs must be included with the full U01 application. Applications that do not include all required LOSs will not be reviewed.
Step 2 - Submit the Full U01 Application
Submit the complete U01 application and include every LOS required for your project. Applications that are missing a required LOS will not be reviewed.
